2013 is Here!

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since we've updated our blog. 2012 was one of our most stellar years, and we were way too busy! Kyle and Steve as well as myself traveled almost every weekend. I (Cole) got the chance to shoot a few events and races I would have never dreamed I'd get to shoot.

Not only did we cover a ton of different races, we got the opportunity to shoot a few new things. I spent a lot of time traveling, making new contacts, shooting, and having a great time.

I have always enjoyed riding BMX throughout my life. It never really dawned on me that while being around skate and bike parks that I could shoot, and capture some pretty breath taking moments. I hang around with a lot of people that ride, and they finally talked me into dragging some gear along. Shooting BMX and other park activities was a bit challenging at first, but coming from a riding background seemed to help.

Throughout my time in, and around the BMX world, I have come across a couple amazing photographers. As an up and coming photographer, one of the best things you can do is admire a professionals work, study it, and expand upon what has made them successful. One of the most inspirational BMX photographers I know of is a man by the name of Fat Tony. I have learned so much just from looking at his images, and by religiously reading his blog (which you should all check out). I'm pretty pumped to say that I may even have the chance to shoot with/ photograph Tony in March of 2013.

Reed Boggs at Ray's MTB Park.

One of the more spectacular moments of my BMX photography "career" came on the day I met one of the coolest people ever. During one of my visits to Ray's MTB Park in Cleveland, Ohio, I met a 15 year old kid by the name of Reed Boggs. It simply started when I asked if he would care if I got some shots of him. I knew we were in for a good time when he said, "Sure thing man! Watch this!" Next thing I knew I was photographing a 15 year old 20' in the air. After a quick line in the Subaru Street Course, Reed introduced himself, and asked my name. After that he asked what else i'd like to shoot, so we moved to another part of the park and got to work. Come to find out, I was talking to someone who we will probably see in the X-Games in the near future. The 15 year old is sponsored by Teva Shoes, Edge Outdoors, and Kid Dynamite Apparel. I'm pretty sure when I shoot Reed at Ray's this week, I might just land my first magazine spread.

Well, now that your all up to speed on what has been going on, I'll leave you with one last shot before I send ya on your merry way!

A rider whose name I do not know. He told me to shoot a way, and then set me up with this gorgeous Wall-Plant. Thanks man!

Well, I'm out of here! Off to Ray's to shoot with Reed and a gang of rad BMXers! Make sure you check out Fat Tony's blog! Follow him on Twitter and Instagram! It's well worth the 5 seconds it takes to click follow! Thanks for reading, and keep your eyes open over the next week or two for a blog with some of my favorite BMX images from my Ray's shoot!

Thanks Everyone!
Keep it Classy!
-Cole
